These Tequila Jello Shots are perfect for celebrating Cinco de Mayo or any other type of fiesta. The combination of cherry, orange and tequila is so insanely delicious. Ingredients Notes

There are a few variations to make this recipe, here’s how it goes –

Cherry Jell-O – for this you can use any type and brand of red jello, if you don’t have cherry one on hand.

Orange Jell-O – we used the original Jell-O brand.

Tequila – any brand will work fine. We used the Sierra Golden Tequila.

Grenadine Syrup – don’t skip this one, it gives more flavor to the shots.

Boiling Water, Cold Water – to make the jello mixtures.

Maraschino Cherries – optional, for garnish.

Whipped Cream – optional, for garnish.

Orange Slice – optional, for garnish.

HOW TO MAKE THIS TEQUILA SUNRISE JELLO SHOTS RECIPE

Place 12 jello shot cups onto a tray. Set aside.
For the Cherry Layer – Combine the cherry jello and 1 cup boiling water, in a medium mixing bowl. Mix until the jello has dissolved. Then add the cold water, grenadine syrup, Tequila and stir. Fill each cup around 1/4 full and place in the fridge for an hour to set.
For The Orange Layer – Combine the orange jello and 1 cups boiling water in a medium mixing bowl. Again – mix until jello powder has dissolved. Add in cold water and Tequila, stir well. Fill the other half with orange layer and place in the fridge for at least 4 hours to completely set.
Garnish each tequila sunrise jello shot with a small wedge of fresh orange, whipped cream and a maraschino cherry before serving.

How Do I Store Jello Shots?

You can store jello shots in the fridge for up to 2 weeks if you have any leftovers left. Remember to put the lids tightly on. You can easily make these in advance for parties, for example, 3 days before serving them.

Absolutely, any tequila brand will do the work.

Are Tequila Sunrise Jello Shots suitable for VEGANS?

Unfortunately these exact ones are not suitable for vegans as they contain gelatin, which is derived from pork. But, as we live in a very saturated world, I think there must be gelatin powders that are suitable for vegans too.
