Taco Sliders

Taco Sliders - Whether you're throwing a Mexican themed party, Game Day dinner or any special occasion, these easy cheesy Taco Sliders are going to be the star of the gathering! The perfect easy appetizers recipe, and a fun way to use leftover taco meat too.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound ground beef, 450grams
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup salsa
  • 12 cheddar cheese slices
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese
  • 6 large slider buns
  • 1 jalapeno, chopped, seeds and stems removed
  • 1/2 tsp powdered onion
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp red pepper flakes, adjusted to taste
  • 1 tsp cumin

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
  • Add the ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned, breaking it up into smaller pieces with a spoon or spatula.
  • Add the diced onion, cumin, red pepper flakes, salt and powdered onion to the skillet. Sauté for a few minutes until the onion is softened.
  • Drain any excess grease from the skillet.
  • Add salsa and jalapeño and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.
  • Remove the skillet from heat and set it aside.
  • Slice the slider buns in half horizontally, keeping the tops and bottoms intact.
  • Place the bottom halves of the slider buns in a baking dish or on a baking sheet.
  • Spread sour cream evenly over the bottom halves of the slider buns.
  • Place cheddar cheese slices, then spread the ground beef mixture evenly over the cheddar cheese.
  • Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese over the ground beef mixture.
  • Place the top halves of the slider buns on top of the cheese to create the sliders.
  • Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for about 20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the sliders are heated through.
  • Remove the foil and serve the taco sliders hot with salsa and sour cream.
