Ingredients
  

  • 1 box white cake mix + ingredients listed to make the cake
  • 3 oz blue jello mix
  • 3 oz red jello mix
  • 2 cups boiling water (divided)
  • 1 cup ice cold water (divided)
  • patriotic sprinkles
  • 8 oz tub whipped topping

Instructions
 

  • Bake your white cake mix according to the package directions and let it cool for at least 30 minutes.
  • Poke holes over the entire cake using a wooden spoon. They should be about ½ – ¾ the depth of the cake.
  • Dissolve blue jello in 1 cup of boiling water. Stir in ½ cup cold water.
  • Dissolve red jello in 1 cup of boiling water. Stir in ½ cup cold water.
  • Carefully pour the red and blue jello into alternating holes in the cake.
  • Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
  • When the cake is completely cooled down, spread whipped topping over the cake and top with patriotic sprinkles.
