Pizza Poppers
Pizza Poppers - These mini pizza bites, also known as Pizza Poppers, are the perfect easy appetizer for your next get-together. Combining the classic flavors of pizza with the convenience of cheesy mini-sized poppers, this recipe is sure to be a crowd-pleaser. Mozzarella cheese and pizza sauce are stuffed in pizza dough, then baked in an aromatic herb oil until golden. Yum!
Ingredients
- 1 can refrigerated pizza dough, (280-320 grams, 10-11 oz)
- 1/2 cup pizza sauce (homemade or store bought)
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup pepperoni, shredded (or any other pizza toppings you prefer)
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- olive oil, for brushing
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to the temperature indicated on the pizza dough package.
- Step 1. Roll out the pizza dough on a lightly floured surface into a rectangle, about 1/4 inch thick.
- Step 2. Spread the pizza sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
- Step 3. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese, grated Parmesan cheese, chopped pepperoni (or other toppings), dried oregano, and garlic powder evenly over the sauce.
- If desired, add any additional pizza toppings of your choice.
- Step 4. Starting from one of the longer sides, tightly roll up the dough into a log.
- Step 5. Using a sharp knife, cut the log into 1-inch thick slices. These will be your pizza poppers.
- Step 6. Place the pizza poppers on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or lightly greased.
- Step 7. Lightly brush the tops of the pizza poppers with olive oil.
- Step 8. Bake in the preheated oven for about 12-15 minutes or until the poppers are golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Step 9. Remove from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes before serving.
- Serve the pizza poppers warm with additional pizza sauce for dipping, if desired.
