INGREDIENTS LIST
Although it looks extremely extravagant, the recipe itself is easy and can be substituted with so many different additions. Here’s how it goes –
Vanilla Ice-Cream – this is the base of a cold and creamy milkshake. I would suggest using any other flavor that is white or in vanilla color, so that the blue color gel can do it’s job and adjust the blue, bright color.
Oreo Cookies – these will be made into cookie crumbs to add around the glass. Plus one cookie is going to be made into a cute Cookie Monster cookie.
Chocolate Chip Cookies – these will be made into cookie crumbs to add around the glass.
Chocolate Frosting – this will be used to spread the frosting evenly around the top of the milkshake glasses. So you can easily add the cookies around the glass.
Blue Food Coloring – it’s best to use a marine blue food gel, so you can easily adjust the bright blue color to imitate the Cookie Monster fur.
Whipped Cream – to top off the milkshake.
Blue Sprinkles – for cute additions to make the freak-shake even more freaky.
Milk – for the milkshake recipe.
You’ll also need – ziploc bag and parchment paper.
HOW TO MAKE COOKIE MONSTER MILKSHAKE
Although it looks incredibly difficult to make to make it this cute and freaky, the recipe itself is easy and attainable for everyone –
For The Cookie Monster Cookie
- Take one Oreo cookie or one chocolate chip cookie.
- Make blue whipped cream – add powdered sugar, heavy whipping cream and blue food gel to chilled bowl and using a standing mixture beat whipping cream until thickened.
- Add the mixture into a piping bag, and whisp upwards to create that fluffy-haired look.
To Decorate The Milkshake Glasses
- Grab 6 of each type of cookie and put them in a large Ziploc bag. Crush the cookies by hand, leaving cookie crumbles. (Be careful to not crush too hard, for this recipe you need cookie crumbles (and not cookie dust). Then, lay out a piece of parchment paper and pour your cookie crumbles on to it.
- Grab a butter knife or rubber spatula and chocolate frosting and spread the frosting evenly around the top of the milkshake glasses. Then roll the milkshake glasses and roll them in cookie crumbles.
- Take a look at the crumbles and press them evenly so that they don’t come off. Don’t push too hard so the frosting won’t smear around the glass.
For The Milkshakes
- Add 6 scoops of vanilla ice cream and 1/2 cup milk to a blender. Then add sky blue gel food coloring to the blender. Add a small amount at first to see if you like the color or add a little more for a brighter blue one.
- Pour your cookie monster freak shake mixture into your chilled, prepared glasses.
- Add whipped cream and blue sprinkles to the top. You can also add leftover cookie crumbles.
- Place in the middle your pre-maid homemade Cookie Monster cookie to the top of your milkshake. Enjoy!
