TIPS FOR SUCCESS
- It’s not mandatory that you use sparkling apple cider as regular apple cider is just as delicious. However, just as a heads up, it will turn out darker with regular apple cider, and a little less bubbly.
- I would not pour these in advance, simply because you don’t want them to go flat before serving them to guests.
- Try to pour the champagne first, because when you pour in the cider, it does a sort of self-stirring, which saves you a step and dishes.
- For a stronger apple cider taste, swap another ounce of champagne for another ounce of apple cider. Or simply add another ounce of apple cider without reducing the champagne at all. However you prefer!
RECIPE FAQ’S
What is the Best Champagne to use for Mimosas?
You’ll want to use a dry Champagne for mimosa recipes. The sweetness in the mimosa will come from the apple cider. The driest champagnes are Brut and Extra Brut. Drier champagnes will balance out the sweetness of the juice or cider.
How to Chill Champagne Faster?
In the perfect world, Champagne or Prosecco takes 4-5 hours to chill in the refrigerator. If you want to speed it up and you don’t have time to wait those hours, place your bottle in an ice bucket half-filled with water, half-filled with ice. It will take around 45 minutes to an hour for champagne to be chilled.
Is Prosecco Good for Mimosas?
Yes, Prosecco is one of the common choices for mimosa recipes because it is drier and sweeter than the usual champagne. Prosecco comes from Italy made with different grapes than Champagne, whereas Champagne is from a region in France. Another unique option you can use for mimosa recipes is Cava, which is a Spanish sparkling wine.
Is it Okay to Use Cheap Champagne for Mimosas?
You can absolutely use a cheaper champagne, as long as you prefer it.
Should Champagne Be Cold for APPLE CIDER Mimosa?
It does INDEED need to be chilled. Chill it in the fridge at least minimum of 3 hours before serving. The perfect chilling time should be around 4-5 hours.
CAN I SKIP THE ADDITIONS?
Yes, absolutely! You can easily enjoy a good mimosa with only apple cider and champagne!
CAN I SKIP THE ALCOHOL?
If you don’t like the usual apple cider drinks with alcohol, skip the champagne and just use sparkling apple cider and garnishes for a fancier look. Although it won’t be the typical mimosa drink, you can still enjoy it as a fancy non-alcoholic fall drink in champagne glasses!
