HOW TO MAKE KEY LIME PIE MARTINI

I’ll walk you through the steps for making a key lime pie martini. I’ve also provided a full ingredient list and detailed instructions in the printable recipe card below.
Begin by melting the white chocolate chips. Place the white chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl and heat in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until melted and smooth. Alternatively, you can melt the white chocolate chips using a double boiler on the stovetop.
Take a martini glass and gently dip the rim into the melted white chocolate, twisting the glass to coat the outer edge with chocolate.
Immediately dip the chocolate-coated rim of the glass into the crushed graham crackers, gently pressing the graham crackers to adhere to the chocolate. Rotate the glass to cover the entire rim with the crushed graham crackers.
Set aside the rimmed glass to allow the chocolate and graham crackers to set.
Repeat this step for the remaining martini glasses.

In a cocktail shaker, add some ices, vodka, lime juice, sweetened condensed milk, and caramel syrup or simple syrup (if using).
Shake the mixture vigorously for about 15-20 seconds to combine and chill all the ingredients.
Strain the mixture into the rimmed martini glasses.
Garnish each martini with lime slices, whipped cream, graham crackers or crushed graham crackers.

TIPS FOR SUCCESS

Make sure to chill your martini glasses in the freezer before starting the recipe. This will help keep the drinks cold for longer.
Use fresh key lime juice for the best flavor. However, if fresh key limes are not available, you can use bottled key lime juice as a substitute.
Adjust the sweetness to your preference by adding more or less caramel syrup or simple syrup.
For an extra touch, you can garnish the martinis with a dollop of whipped cream, a sprinkle of crushed graham crackers, or lime zest.

RECIPE FAQ’S

Can I use regular lime juice instead of key lime juice?

Key lime juice is traditionally used in Key Lime Pie Martinis for its distinct flavor. However, if you can’t find key lime juice, regular lime juice can be used as a substitute.

Can I make this recipe ahead of time?

While it’s best freshly made, you can prepare the rimmed glasses in advance and keep them in the refrigerator. However, it’s recommended to mix and shake the cocktail just before serving for the best taste and texture.

Can I use a different type of liquor instead of vodka?

Vodka is the traditional base, but you can experiment with other spirits like rum or tequila if you prefer. Keep in mind that it will alter the flavor profile of the drink.

Can I make a non-alcoholic version of this drink?

How do I store leftover Key Lime Pie Martini?

It’s best to consume the martinis fresh for the best taste and texture. However, if you have leftovers, you can store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours. Give the mixture a gentle shake before serving again.

Can I use a different type of chocolate for rimming the glasses?

White chocolate will give a  creamy and sweet flavor, but you can try milk or dark chocolate if you prefer. Adjust the sweetness by adding more or less chocolate accordingly.

Can I use a blender instead of a cocktail shaker?

A cocktail shaker is typically used to mix and chill the ingredients but you can use a blender as an alternative. However, be cautious not to over-blend, as it may result in a frothy texture.
