TIPS FOR SUCCESS
- Adjust the lime lemon soda to taste. Add more or less depending on how much fizziness and tanginess you desire in your potion.
- If you don’t have a food processor, you can also use a blender to process the limes into a puree. Make sure to remove any seeds before processing.
- For a stronger lime flavor, you can add the zest of the limes to the potion. Simply grate the outer green part of the lime peel and add it to the apple juice and lime puree mixture.
- If you prefer a sweeter potion, you can add a tablespoon or two of honey or agave syrup to the mixture. Adjust the sweetness to your liking.
- For a more magical presentation, you can rim the serving glasses with colored sugar or serve the potion in decorative potion bottles or cauldrons.
- To make the potion extra cold, chill the apple juice and lime puree mixture in the refrigerator before serving. You can also chill the glasses before adding the ice and potion.
RECIPE FAQ’S
WHAT DOES POLYJUICE POTION DO IN HARRY POTTER?
Polyjuice Potion allows the drinker to change species and to assume the form of someone else. It was a complicated, challenging, and time-consuming potion to make and required ingredients such as lacewing flies, leeches, fluxweed, knotgrass, powdered horn of a Bicorn, and shredded skin of a Boomslang, as well as a portion of whoever the drinker intended to turn into.
CAN I MAKE AN ADULT VERSION OF THIS HARRY POTTER POLYJUICE POTION?
Yes, you can easily make this drink adult-friendly by adding vodka to your punch mixture. Start with 2-3 cups of vodka, tasting the drink, and deciding if you want more. You can get creative here and add some flavored vodka, such as, cotton candy, vanilla, or berry vodka.
HOW TO SERVE POLYJUICE POTION?
For a more magical experience and presentation, you can rim the serving glasses with colored sugar (green or purple) or serve the potion in decorative potion bottles or cauldrons.
WHAT IS DRY ICE?
Dry ice, aka, Carbon dioxide in solid form is known as dry ice, and as it melts, it returns to its normal state: colorless, odorless carbon dioxide gas. Dry ice is safe for using in cocktails, as long as you avoid swallowing and use gloves and tongs during handling.
HOW TO USE DRY ICE?
As you may know, dry ice is a fun addition to your Halloween drinks, Halloween desserts (to create that spooky fog/smoke effect) and for keeping summer drinks cold in the hot season.
Handle dry ice carefully. You can use oven mitts, insulated gloves, or thick towels to handle dry ice, otherwise, it will burn your hands.
