In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned
Add the diced onion, minced garlic, chili flakes, cumin, ground onion, salt and pepper to the skillet with the ground beef. Sauté until the onion is translucent. Then Cook for an additional 2 minutes to allow the spices to become fragrant.

Spoon about 2 tablespoons of the beef mixture onto each tortilla, spreading it down the center. Sprinkle some shredded cheese over the beef.
Roll up the tortillas tightly to form taquitos. Secure them with toothpicks if needed.
Transfer the taquitos to a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for about 20 minutes to ensure they are heated through.
Remove from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes before serving.
Serve the beef taquitos with your choice of toppings such as sour cream, guacamole, salsa, or chopped cilantro.
TIPS FOR SUCCESS
You can use either flour or corn tortillas for this recipe, depending on your preference.
Feel free to adjust the amount of chili flakes and other spices according to your desired level of heat and flavor.
The optional toppings of sour cream, guacamole, and salsa add extra flavor and freshness to the taquitos.
Be cautious when handling toothpicks in the taquitos(If using). Make sure to remove them before serving
To prevent the tortillas from cracking or breaking when rolling, you can warm them in the microwave for a few seconds or on a hot skillet to make them more pliable.
If you prefer a crispier texture, you can fry the taquitos instead of baking them. See the instructions below for frying methods.
HOW TO MAKE AIR FRIED BEEF TAQUITOS
After rolling the taquitos, heat cooking oil in a large skillet or deep fryer over medium-high heat.
Carefully place the taquitos seam-side down in the hot oil and fry until golden brown and crispy, turning them occasionally to cook evenly.
Use tongs or a slotted spoon to remove the fried taquitos from the oil and drain them on paper towels to remove excess oil.
Let them cool for a few minutes before serving.
Vegetarian fillings you can use:
Spinach and Cheese: Sauté fresh spinach with some garlic until wilted, then mix it with your choice of shredded cheese such as mozzarella or feta. This combination creates a flavorful and cheesy filling.
Sweet Potato and Black Bean: Roast or boil sweet potatoes until fork-tender, then mash them with cooked black beans. Season with spices like cumin, paprika, and chili powder for added flavor.
Mushroom and Caramelized Onion: Sauté sliced mushrooms and caramelized onions until they are golden and tender. This savory combination adds a rich and earthy flavor to the taquitos.
Refried Beans and Cheese: Spread a layer of refried beans onto the tortillas and sprinkle with shredded cheese. You can also add some diced jalapeños or chopped cilantro for extra flavor.
Roasted Vegetable Medley: Roast a variety of vegetables such as bell peppers, zucchini, eggplant, and onions until they are caramelized and tender. Chop them into small pieces and mix with your choice of cheese for a colorful and flavorful filling.
Tofu and Vegetable: Crumble firm tofu and sauté it with a mix of diced vegetables like bell peppers, onions, and corn. Season with spices such as cumin, paprika, and garlic powder for a protein-packed vegetarian filling.
