INGREDIENTS NOTES
Unsalted Butter – unsalted and softened.
Lemon Zest & Lemon Juice – I suggest using these straight out of a lemon for a deeper flavor.
Granulated Sugar – white or brown, you choose.
Large Eggs – to bind all ingredients together.
All Purpose Flour
Baking Powder – to make the mixture rise.
For The Lemon Glaze –
Powdered Sugar
Fresh Lemon Juice
Lemon Zest
HOW TO MAKE LEMON BROWNIES
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees and line a 9×13 baking pan with parchment paper.
- Whisk together the flour and baking powder.
- Using a standing mixer, beat together the butter, sugar, lemon juice and lemon zest until fluffy.
- Beat in eggs, one at a time.
- Gradually beat in the dry ingredients until combined – baking powder and flour.
- Pour batter into the baking pan and bake in the oven for 23-25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs.
- Allow to completely cool on the counter.
- Make Lemon Glaze : Using a large mixing bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, lemon juice and lemon zest until combined. Pour the glaze over the lemon bars and spread evenly. Let it sit overnight before serving.
